Changing Trends in HRM in the Global Perspective

Changing Trends in HRM the Global Perspective

The businesses around the world is changing very fast in a sluggish economy. As a part of organization, Human Resource Management (HRM) have to be prepared to deal with impacts of changing trends. (Andrew, 2016) .A few of these trends pertain to changes happening in the external environment of the organization others pertain to a number of the ways in which organizations are responding internally to such trends. The three most important fields of change are technological, demographics and diversity, and globalization. (Mello, 2005)

One of the foremost important trends affecting hr and people in organizations is technology. Merely outlined, an organization's technology is the method by that inputs from an organization's setting are reworked into outputs. Technology includes tools, machinery, equipment, work procedures, and employee knowledge and skills. (Ashish & Kamal, 2013)All organizations, be they manufacturing or service, public or non-public, massive or small, employ some kind of technology to provide some-thing for the open marketplace or for a particular cluster of constituents. Some organizations are located in remote areas most probably digital divide may hit on the organizations which will be lagged the operations. (Treisman, 2014),  With constant advances in technology and work processes, organizations are under augmented competitive pressure to implement, if not develop on their own, more efficient means of operations. (Mello, 2005)

Most of the jobs are at risk due to computerization or automation but it increases the productivity. This is called technological unemployment. (CIPD, 2017) Study says that millions of UK workers are at risk of being replaced by robotics. According to the UK economic outlook that was found 30% of the work labor is potentially under risk form the improvement of Artificial Intelligence in next ten years. (UKEO, 2017) They say this outbreak will create new job opportunities too. Most probably people who work for manufacturing industries will hit hard.HR practitioners may be criticized in near future. They need to take actions to protect employee’s jobs without being fired from the job. By arranging training such like creativity, critical thinking and emotional intelligence may help the situation. (Elliot, 2017)

In 2020 there is an idea to promote robotic arms for MAS holding's manufacturing floors. Now the employees are afraid of loosing their jobs, this resulted to demotivating employees and productivity is getting lower now.New trends in technology doesn’t have to be a disaster .HR practitioners should turn it into an opportunity. If not and the  economy and future will suffer as a result.
