All planned and controlled activities of an
organization to build and maintain the relation between employees and the
organization in order to meet both business objectives and employees
expectations.
According to Michael Armstrong (2006), Human resource
management is defined as a strategic and coherent approach to the management of
an organization’s most valued assets – the people working there who
individually and collectively contributes to the achievement of its objectives.
In the words of Edwin B. Flippo (2007), Human Resource Management is- “the
planning, organization, directing and controlling of the procurement,
development, compensation, integration, maintenance and reproduction of human
resources to the end that individual, organizational and societal objectives
are accomplished”.
New Trends in HRM (sumhr,
2017)
Recruitment vs. e-Recruitment
This is the one function which is
hand in glove with HR. Recruitment has been one of the major responsibilities of
the HR team. Now a day e-recruitment takes place It refers to using
the web, software and other technology to attract, find, evaluate and hire
people. E-recruiting methods include: Sourcing candidates on social media.
Using an applicant tracking system (ATS.)
Appraisals vs. E-Appraisals
Performance appraisals help in employee motivation by encouraging them to work to their fullest potential. People will work happier when they are appraised. The new e-appraisal form can be used before appraisal meetings, after appraisal meetings and can even be populated and shared with your appraiser throughout the year if needed. It uses secure online form instead of paper.
As a example MAS Holdings (pvt) ltd is now narrowing down to latest technologies. They are using both e-appraisals, e-recruitment and more flexible new HR trends. Most of the global organizations are now equipped with new hr trends.

DeleteThe overview of PM and HRM could have been discussed after HRM was Defined. Instead of just listing the HRM functions and roles a review of how there roles have changed in the contemporary practice of HRM in the global context could have been discussed giving examples of organisations and why they have adopted the new methods such has e-recruitment and selection. What is happening in the areas of performance appraisals today and the changes to the practice of HRM, should have been analysed. Please pay attention to formatting and style additionally. Instead of Online referencing Academic Journal Articles should have been used.
